Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical support in the solution of hardware and software problems. This technical specialist works under the supervision of senior technicians and performs analysis and troubleshooting to determine the appropriate activity to return fielded systems to mission capable status. Our Software Technician creates privileged accounts within the tactical software. They must be competent in the performance of general maintenance procedures and perform Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on Major End Items (MEIs) also troubleshooting hardware issues. Candidate must have operational experience with military defense systems and hold current technical certifications.


Responsibilities

  • Operate system software
  • Create privileged user accounts on the system
  • Troubleshoot and correct network, software, hardware, application, power and data issues using current industry standards, tools and techniques
  • Perform repairs and/or replacements of Line Replaceable Units (LRU) in labs and on fielded system
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS)
  • Supports laboratories and testbed equipment performing installations, configurations, and checkout of software and software patches
  • Integrates OIV/FCN software network updates
  • Provide operational integration assistance and training as required
  • Teach and/or assist Government and Contractor personnel in March Order and Emplacement (MO&E) of MEIs
  • Provide Software SME support for exercises and tests
  • Ensure LRUs are properly tagged when removed from MEIs so equipment status can be readily ascertained
  • Ensure that parts flow to the customer and that retrograde flows back to the repair locations
  • Assist customers with supply, maintenance, transportation, system modifications

Required Certifications, Skills and Training

  • Combined education/experience = 6 years
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or equivalent
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+

  • Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA) (or equivalent)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Palo Alto OS
  • LINUX+
  • Joint Multi-Tactical Data Link (TDL) Architecture (MTA)

  • Counter-Rocket Artillery and Mortar Command and Control (CRAM C2)

  • Forward Based Radar Sensor Management Cells (FBM)
  • Patriot Information Coordination Centrals (ICCC)
  • Patriot Tactical Command systems (TCS)
